They are re-showing the Press conference. Pretty wid scene.
Gus Johnson is telling the crowd at home that It's now Kimbo Vs. Seth.
They are talking to the doctor that suspended Shamrock. They say there was no chance. And it's a 45 day suspension.
EliteXC is so hilariously fucked.
They are doing the talking deals from cageside with Gus, Frank and Mauro. They mention the Kevin Randalman Pedro Rizzo match from years ago where Randalman slipped on some pipes warming up backstage and knocked himself out canncelling that fight. Only Mauro would mention that fight. They plug the EliteXC/Affliction team up.
"This fight could Main Event any MMA show in the world"
Except a UFC show of course.
Also my stream AND my CBS affiliate are pretty bad right now. This should be a fun night.
Rua Vs. Radich is up next.
Santos Vs. Takahashi supposedly tore up the house.
Radich is listed his discipline "Facesmashing Kung Fu" Ugh.
Well we still have Jimmy Lennon Jr. That's always Buys.
Round 1: Slow starting out. Radich starting swinging and then Rua came back and knocked down Radich who rolled backward back to his feet. Radich looked like he had Rua for a second. Radich had his back for a second and then Rua was able to get back to his feet. Rua tried a running knee. Radich tried a takedown and has him up against the fence. Rua pulls Guard. Rua trying a Heel Hook and Radich spins out. Rua's got it again. Rua now with Radich up against the fence. Close round. 10-9 Radich but I could also see it going for Rua.
Round 2: Rua tried the running knee again. High Kick by Rua. Radich rocked Rua. Rua now going to town on Radich with Leg Kicks. Radich nailed Rua with a left hand as Rua was going for a running knee and Rua went down. It's over. Hard to really consider it an upset but a big win for Radich.
Kobold-Gavin Vs. Carano is next.
No way this show is going under 2 hours. No way. Over/Under is 20 minutes long.
All these Fedor/Affliction ads for someone no one gives a shit about.
So...if Kimbo flops in the ratings, Gina loses and they lose their CBS deal, would this be the most spectacular failure of a MMA promotion ever?
And no this is not a joke for the eventual Carano win to prove me wrong. Whatever gave you that impression?
Round 1: Carano hit one punch and Gavin tried a takedown. Carano with good sprawl. Long Clinch. Carano still fending off this takedown. Punch knee and punch from Gavin. Gavin with a few good shot but she's already gassed. This may be due to the fact that she hasn't fought in over a year. Gavin trying for a takedown. 10-9 Gavin.
Round 2: Carano with a good series of punches. Gavin trying for a takedown again. Good fight so far. Both are willing to trade. Gavin with a good left hand. Carano with a few good punches. Carano starting to win the stand up but Gavin is still hitting punches as well. Gavin finally getting the takedown. Gavin starting to Ground And Pound with good shots. Close round. I call it 10-10. Maybe 10-9 Gavin.
Round 3: Gavin trying a takedown again. Carano doing a good job of defending. Gavin trying to pick up Carano but Carano may be too heavy. This is where cutting down from 170 really pays off. Gavin with a punch and Carano with a knee. Gavin trying for a takedown again. Carano was able to reverse the attempt and get on top briefly. Both on their feet. Carano tried a spinning backfist. Carano trys three High Kicks that hit well and did damage. 10-9 Carano.
I have it 28-28. No way it's a draw under most judges scorecards. I'd probably expect Carano to win.
Judges score it 29-28 30-27 30-27 for Carano. Bad call in my opinion. No way it was 30-27.
